Brush Up on Your Brogue in Honor of St. Patrick's Day!

While most people celebrate St. Patrick’s Day with green beer and a favorite green shirt, Rosetta Stone is offering a unique way to get in the holiday spirit: the chance to learn Irish, for free! The popular language-learning software company will offer a free, online Irish trial until the end of March.

“We would like everyone to go beyond just wearing their favorite green shirt on St. Patrick’s Day and thought it would be fun for anyone to learn a few Irish words through our free trial,” Duane Sider, director of learning at Rosetta Stone, said in a press release. “Not only will it encourage people to get into the spirit of the holiday, but we hope it will also generate awareness of a language that is spoken by so few people today.”

Despite being the first official language of the republic of Ireland, Irish is a rapidly dying language, with less than 55,000 speakers in the world today.
