Facebook Creator Mark Zuckerberg the Subject of New Comic Book

After being depicted in a book and the Oscar-nominated film The Social Network, Mark Zuckerberg, the 26-year-old creator of Facebook, now stars in his very own comic book.

Written by freelance journalist Jerome Maida and illustrated by Sal Field, Mark Zuckerberg: Creator of Facebook is a 48-page comic book offering “a more balanced portrayal” of the Facebook visionary then viewers saw in the The Social Network.

“Rightly or wrongly, Mark dealt harshly with some people on his way to where he is today,” Maida said in an announcement from Blue Water Productions. “As we see, he left many people feeling betrayed. I try my best to be fair here. No one is totally innocent in this story. I try to represent each of the major players’ point of view.”

Why create a comic book about a computer programmer, albeit a great one?  After all, comic books are typically the realm of superheroes with awe-inspiring powers not men who work with computers.

"This is a fascinating story," Maid said. "Think about it. Mark Zuckerberg is the youngest billionaire on the planet and created something that has already had a profound impact on the world. Yet hardly anyone knows much about him. It's amazing."

According to the release, Maida’s take on Zuckerberg’s life and career also inspired Hayden 5 Media to create an animated film based on the new book, a project that is currently in the works.

Retailing for $7, the Mark Zuckerberg comic is currently available in newsstands, comic book shops, and online retailers everywhere.

In case you're wondering, Zuckerberg and Facebook had nothing to do with new comic.

"We've said all we're going to say about the movie and the books. We've moved on from this discussion, and we think others have, too," a spokesperson from Facebook said.
