Grammy App Mashes Map with Music

There are many music apps on the market but MusicMapper allows users to share musical memories on locations, as well as learn about their favorite artists' musical experiences.

While the app was created as part of the Grammy Awards promotional campaign, in partnership with the music subscription service Rdio, many users are already saying that it's fun, useful, and addictive.

You select a song, tag it to a specific location on the map, and then attach a note describing how it defines a special moment in your life. (For those who haven't hopped on the app wagon yet, offers the same excitement.)

Grammy-nominated artists have joined in on the fun as well by documenting their own details on the map, such as Eminem. Plus, Grammy performances from the past can be unlocked, such as Ricky Martin (1999), Mary J Blige (2002), and Radiohead (2009).

The Recording Academy hopes that MusicMapper will matter to music lovers well after the award show, which is February 13th.
