New TomTom GPS Automatically Tweets User’s Destination

The new TomTom GO LIVE 1535 M GPS comes with a lot of cool apps that allow users to read restaurants reviews, book hotel rooms, and check local gas prices. However, one app that seems more than a little strange (not to mention creepy and potentially dangerous) is the GO LIVE Twitter app.

Though GO LIVE 1535 M owners can’t use the app to read or write tweets, they can set the device to automatically tweet their destinations, estimated arrival times, and actual time of arrivals. Yes, now all of your friends can know exactly where you’re headed and exactly when you’ll get there. Why anyone would want to use this tool is beyond me, but it does sound like a great way to help out stalkers and aspiring burglars.

The TomTom GO LIVE 1535 M hits shelves in October and can be yours for $249. This includes a 12-month subscription to TomTom’s LIVE services.

What do you think of TomTom’s new Twitter feature? Personally, I don’t understand the need to broadcast one’s whereabouts to the entire world, but I am pretty old and unhip.
