Sprint's Supersonic HTC EVO 4G is Coming This Summer

The technology wars continue with Sprint promising a newer, faster, supersonic smartphone this summer. The HTC EVO 4G claims to be America's first 4G phone and will be as powerful as most people's home computers. Some details are still shrouded in mystery, such as exactly when the phone will be available and how much it will cost. But here's what we do know.

The HTC EVO will connect to the internet 10 times faster than current 3G handsets, thanks to Sprint's growing 4G WiMAX networks, currently covering 27 markets. It has not just one, but two cameras - an 8 megapixel flash camera and a 1.3 front facing camera for video calls...

Speaking of video, say goodbye to slow viewing and uploading of videos, since the supersonic 4G speeds allow fast fun on YouTube. This smartphone will also let users share real time video streaming just about as good as if they were standing in front each other.

Sprint CEO, Dan Hesse, says, "Sprint continues to lead the 4G revolution as we introduce HTC EVO 4G to give our customers an experience that is unlike anything available in wireless to date ... not only is this feature-rich device incredible on our Sprint 3G network, but Sprint 4G speeds will take mobile multimedia, including live video streaming, gaming and picture downloads, to a whole new level."
