Looking For A New Investiment Vehicle Try Classic Cars

The stock market is volatile and home prices are down. There is very little confidence in the financial institutions. All this leaves you wondering where to invest your money?

It’s simple really. Consider classic cars.  Prices for collectable post war automobiles have shot up 67% from 2006 to the end of last year. At the same time Standard & Poor’s 500 index dropped 5.9%.  Those numbers make a compelling argument to invest equity into rolling assets.

There is a new upstart investment fund, IGA Automobile, which plans to buy and sell the best autos it can secure. Aston Martin, Porsche Shelby, the Ferrari 250 and the GTO are among their targeted acquisitions.  The plan is to invest $150 million over the next 7 years and deliver a 15% return for their investors.  Hopefully they can locate sellers willing to part with a classic car as well as buyers willing to pay top dollar.

In the past few years cars such as the 1936 Bugatti57SC Atlantic was resold for 35 million, and the 1957 Ferrari Testa Rossa fetched $12 million.
