Amazon Prime Adding More Movies to Streaming Service

Amazon announced today that it is adding more than 1,000 movies and TV shows to its Amazon Prime membership services.

In a statement released by Amazon Founder and CEO Jeff Bezos, it’s been announced that a plethora of new movies and tv shows, including some HD content, will be added to streaming access.

Hit movies like The Right Stuff, Network, and Superman: The Movie will be added, along with award-winning independent films like Y Tu Mama Tambien, A Guide to Recognizing Your Saints, and Waste Land. TV shows including Pushing Daisies, Midsomer Murders, and Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles will be added, alongside the last seven seasons of Sesame Street, plus 1,500 other family-friendly movies and TV shows.

Amazon Prime’s instant-streaming service isn’t just available on their website, either – over 300 HDTVs, Blu-ray players, and set-top boxes include Amazon Instant Video, so subscribers can watch instantly on TV.

In addition to commercial-free streaming video, Amazon Prime members enjoy unlimited, free two-day shipping. Is Amazon giving Netflix a run for its money? Maybe!
