iPad 3 Features Sharper Screen, Better Camera, Faster Processor

Apple debuted the third-generation iPad today, a device that will feature a faster processor, a better camera, and a dramatically sharper screen, CNN reports. The new iPad will also connect to 4G networks, where available.

"It is amazing," Apple CEO Tim Cook said of the iPad 3. "We've taken it to a whole new level, and we are redefining the category that Apple created with the original iPad."

The new iPad, which will be available in the United States on March 16, features a 9.7-inch screen with a retina display of 2047 by 1536 pixels. By comparison, the iPad 2 has a retina display of 1024 by 768 pixels. The iPad 3 also boasts a 5-mega pixel camera and the ability to connect to super fast 4G networks, though it will default to 3G when the better network isn't available.

The iPad 3 will cost about the same as an iPad 2 - between $499 and $829 - depending on storage capacity and WiFi connectivity. Apple lovers can pre-order the device on the Apple store now.

Though Apple CEO Tim Cook didn't officially dub the new iPad the iPad 3, that's what most folks in the media are calling it. Will you be ordering the slick new iPad?
